ICB translation is a pretty good Bible for helping kids to learn about God. The prayer section and the prayer journal is another factor that makes this beautiful Bible so good!

This is a beautifully bound Bible. The presentation is really nice and would make an impressive gift. It also comes with a free prayer journal. Basically, it's a matching journal with blank lined pages for writing prayers within, which is helping for anyone that finds themselves with a long list of prayer requests, both personal and from others. I'm partial to blue, which I think is why I like the cover of this Bible. I'm not familiar with the ICB (International Children's Bible), but from what I've seen in this Bible, it looks like easier reading not only for a child but also for early English learners (perhaps those in ESL levels 2-4). This Bible includes various prayers throughout: of healing, of praise, for the morning, in thanks, when afraid. There are a lot of different prayer articles covering a lot of topics such asloneliness, fear. joy and depression. These are like mini devotions. "Thanks for Remembering" recounts Hannah's story and how she remembered to thank God for answering her prayer. There are key verses highlighted with the key verse topical index at the front for a faster find. For example, on salvation there's John 3:16, but also many others like Psalm 67:1-2, and Romans 3:23-24.The first prayer listed in this Bible, even before the Old Testament starts, is the Lord's prayer. Another nice feature is the pages with questions and answers. Kids always have questions. "Do I need to use fancy words when I pray? If God knows what we need, why do we need to ask Him for it? Does God hear the prayer of people who don't belong to Him? Do I need to close my eyes when I pray? I think The Prayer Bible would make a great gift, whether it's theirfirst Bible, for a child or even an adult. The idea of having answers to questions about prayer, as well as specific examples of how those in the Bible prayed during their times of need or in times of joy, it's a great starting point for any of us that have no clue where to start. I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Having been studying prayer myself, as an adult, I was thrilled to read through this Bible. We often teach our children how to converse with God yet praying God's Word is what really gives life to our prayers. When teaching this to children it can be very daunting and overwhelming. This Prayer Bible gives a way to teach it and cover topics of prayer. Inserted throughout the Bible are questions about prayer and answers. These questions cover a variety of topics and are great to begin conversations with children about prayer. Through out the Bible certain promises are highlighted. This is also a perfect way to begin praying the promises of the Bible. I love this concept and am so glad it has been done for children. I received this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This is a new Bible in the International Children’s Bible translation that will open-up prayer to kids and all readers. The Bible intro pages start with a letter with the salutation, Dear precious child, stating that God loves them and includes a short description of the Bible. The letter is done in a personal way and is a definite plus. The Bible includes 160 special prayers of the Bible, where and when the prayer has been used in Bible times to help and how it can be used now for help. The Bible includes a dictionary and concordance for those study times. The words included in the dictionary are printed in bold type. A description of how to use the Bible is included, making it very easy to learn the features and how they can be used. Some of the features used on each page are bold subject headings, highlighted key verses and footnotes. Also included are question and answers to help the reader to understand prayer. At the back of the Bible is pages for the reader to note prayer requests or other notes they may want to remember. A list is included of God’s promises along with a list of Bible verses for memorization, not just a list of addresses, but the verses themselves. A separate bonus of a prayer journal is included with the Bible. I think this Bible would be a great help for kids and anyone new to the Bible. The translation is very easy to understand, and the helpful features are not over whelming as some study Bibles can be. The explanation of the prayers of the Bible are great and are a definite help to understand how helpful prayer is and why we need to pray. I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
