The grace of God is the expression of His goodness toward the undeserving. Grace means unmerited favor and can be expressed by the acrostic “God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.” This grace is the basis of our salvation (Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8).
In salvation, men who deserve hell obtain heaven. This cannot be explained apart from God’s grace. Every conversion in Scripture is an example of God’s grace. When Paul met the Lord on the road to Damascus, Paul was a persecutor of the church. Yet God made him one of the church’s chief preachers.
We need to remember that we are saved, given the Holy Spirt, and allowed to serve God – by His grace.

“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

“And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.” 1 Timothy 1:14-16
“But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.” Romans 5:15
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8
